Yoga

Yoga has been a constant thread in my own journey—first as a source of profound healing and transformation in my own life, and now as a tool I share with others to help them reconnect with themselves on a deep level. My teaching blends movement, breathwork, and meditation with yoga philosophy, somatic awareness, and nervous system regulation practices. Whether you’re looking for stress relief, personal growth, or a way to feel more at home in your body, my approach offers more than just a series of poses—it’s a path toward a more grounded, intentional life.

My Approach

Mindful | Somatic | Creative

I’m a certified yoga instructor and a somatic psychotherapist with extensive training in trauma-informed practices. My background as a licensed professional counselor shapes how I hold space—meeting you where you are, without judgment or pressure.

Though I have been teaching yoga since approximately 2017, I remain a perpetual yoga student. I am currently pursuing my RYT 500 certification under Janet Stone and the stONE Yoga School, and I am also training in Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy in order to deepen my toolkit and expertise.

In my classes and private sessions, we explore not only the physical practice of yoga but also its philosophy. To me, yoga is so much more than making shapes with our bodies—it’s self-awareness, healing, transformation, and connection. Together, we use yoga to support the nervous system, deepen self-understanding, and create space for authentic living, whether that means gentle movement, energizing flow, philosophical reflection, or practical tools for daily life.

My teaching style is mindful, playful, and adaptable. I care more about how you feel—in body, breath, and mind—than about “nailing” a posture. I love blending yoga’s many sides: the uplifting energy of music-driven sequences and the grounding calm of restorative stillness. From child’s pose to challenging balances, I guide each posture as a moving meditation, inviting deeper presence and self-connection.

After taking one yoga class with Abby, I was completely hooked. No other yoga instructor I've had has been so considerate and thoughtful of students' needs and wishes, and it makes the classes varied and enjoyable. Abby's explanations are straightforward and effective, which gives her classes a really incredible flow that I haven't found in many other yoga courses. I found myself really craving and looking forward to her classes as a way to pause and reflect and take some time for myself and my body, which Abby really nurtures in her practice. The only problem is that now I'm disappointed in other yoga classes because they're not taught by Abby!
